Plastic Gallery is pleased to present 8/24 : Kobe Bryant by American Artist Michael Muller. A virtual exhibition of never before seen photographs of Kobe Bryant shot by Muller throughout the last decade. Opening August 24, 2020 running through September 24, 2020, this is the first release of Muller’s Mamba series.
Michael Muller
Michael Muller is a Los Angeles based artist known for his complex and profound body of photography. Muller’s portraits capture the raw emotions of celebrities, rockstars, superheroes, athletes and wildlife. Raised in Northern California, Muller spent much of his childhood in Saudi Arabia and has since circled the globe shooting for the pages and covers of publications including Vanity Fair, Elle, Rolling Stone, Harper’s Bazaar, Interview and the New York Times. His images can be seen on iconic movie posters such as The Avengers, Guardians of The Galaxy, Spiderman, X-men, Hancock, Iron Man and Captain America. In 2007 Muller turned his lens underwater and began photographing sharks as they have never been seen before. Both Michael’s commercial assignments and his fine art shots have a unique signature style and his passion for the art of photography can easily be felt by simply looking at his photographs. About his work, Michael states, “When people view my work, I simply want to evoke emotion, and let the viewer feel they are in face ALIVE.”

Plastic Gallery and Michael Muller are pleased to share that a percentage of all proceeds from 8/24 : Kobe Bryant will be donated to GENESIS STEAM. GENESIS STEAM is proud to have Michael Muller as a partner and mentor to our students. He hosts exclusive Virtual Reality (VR) Design Studios showcasing Into the Now, his VR film series. Michael mentors our students to solve current critical ocean problems by creating and building prototype solutions using found materials and art techniques. Students present their solutions through Michael’s donated GoPro Fusion 360 Cameras and Oculus Go Headsets. GENESIS provides quality STEAM learning to diverse communities of underserved youth in Los Angeles and beyond. GENESIS programs reach and engage students who have been left out of the fast-moving STEAM revolution by fostering an inclusive and multi-faceted learning approach. Through programs using art and technology to demonstrate critical thinking and creative problem solving, GENESIS provides access and opportunity to 21st Century skills. These tools are the currency for higher education and employment.In response to Covid-19, GENESIS is providing children at home with unprecedented forms of access to free STEAM learning through the The GENESIS Innovation Campus, a virtual reality platform. The Campus provides transformative STEAM education in real time from any device, anywhere in the world, allowing students to remain creative, innovative and productive during these difficult times.
